Viana do Castelo announces new congress center

The former Associação Industrial do Minho (AIMinho) pavilion, recently acquired by the municipality of Viana do Castelo, will be transformed into a congress and exhibition centre.

According to a report on the website of this Minho municipality, the restructuring project of this venue is already underway and works are starting in early 2020.

The decision to acquire the pavilion was approved in late May at a meeting of the Executive, after the municipality received several requests to hold national and international congresses and events, making it urgent to create more infrastructures for this purpose, the article reads.

The Viana do Castelo Congress and Exhibition Centre - which has quick access to the historic city centre and several traditional hotels, restaurants and shops – will offer a congress and events room for about 500 people, an auditorium for 140 people, an exhibition hall and rooms for workshops and theme sessions.
